How your coach works

Reports tell you what's wrong. A coach makes you better: he remembers, he plans, he drills your own mistakes, then proves it on your rating.

What he reads

Eight signals, from every game you've ever played, not a sample.

Openingsyour repertoire, scored
Tacticspattern accuracy, tracked
Endgamestechnique, measured
Conversionwon positions, kept
Timeclock pressure, mapped
Resourcefulnessdefence and comebacks
Tiltfocus after a loss
Every game, deep-divedcastling, pawn structure, piece activity

What he does

He ranks your leaks by the rating they cost, attacks the most expensive first, and re-plans every week as you improve.

Let me guess why you are here

Three questions. One yes is enough.

  • Losing to the same tactic, again and again?
  • Blundering middlegames you should be winning?
  • Watching videos that never reach your own games?

You read the opening books, you play hundreds of rapid games, you check the engine after a loss, and the number will not move. A plateau is not your ceiling. It means the instincts that carried you this far are no longer sharp enough for what comes next. Which instinct depends almost entirely on where you sit.

Your rating

Under 1000

Unforced tactical loss

You move before scanning for what is hanging. Games are decided by a piece left en prise, not by strategy.

What I doI drill blunder-checks on your own losses until the scan happens before every move.

1000 – 1200

One-way vision

You see your own idea clearly and miss the reply. The plan is sound right up to the opponent’s answer.

What I doEvery drill makes you name their threat before you play your move.

1200 – 1500

Pacing and consistency

Too fast in the sharp positions that decide the game, too vague in the quiet ones that build it.

What I doI find where your clock and your accuracy come apart, then train those exact moments.

1500 – 1800

Ineffective transitions

Small advantages leak away, and the handover from opening to middlegame loses the thread.

What I doConversion drills built from your own won positions, re-measured every week.

A full diagnostic of your last 40 games.

Stockfish grades your last 40 games into a six-skill profile, benchmarked against your exact rating: openings, conversion, tilt, time. The pattern, not the one bad night.

Puzzles & Woodpecker

Repetition until patterns are instinct.

One fixed set, re-solved in faster, cleaner cycles until you stop calculating the fork and start seeing it. That instinct is most of what separates a 1200 from a 1600.

Which openings are losing me points in rapid?
As Black, the Caro-Kann Advance. 14 games, 29% score, and you leave theory on move 6, three moves before your opponents do. That one line is costing you ~22 points a month.
Ouch. Can we fix it?
Two ways: drill the 4 critical positions you keep mis-playing, or I rebuild the line around 3…c5, which fits how you actually play. 12 minutes a day, gone by Friday.

Straight answers

Before you ask.

Is this just Stockfish with a chat wrapper?
No. Stockfish tells you a move was bad. The coach reads across all of your games, ranks your recurring leaks by the rating each one costs you, and builds a training plan around the most expensive one, then re-checks whether it actually closed. The engine is one input, not the product.
Do I have to play on Lumichess?
No. Point the coach at your Chess.com or Lichess username and he reads your existing history. You keep playing wherever you already play.
How much time does it actually take?
Fifteen minutes a day, aimed at your biggest leak, not a forty-hour course you'll never finish. If fifteen minutes is too much, no tool will move your rating, and we would rather be honest about that.
What's free, and what's paid?
The Profile Report, Insights, and Puzzles are free for everyone, forever, with no card required. AI Coach, meaning the plan, the daily drills and the re-measured proof, is the paid upgrade, starting at $8.25 a month billed yearly.
Is my game data private?
Analysis runs on your own device through Stockfish 18 compiled to WebAssembly. Your games are read locally in your browser, and the heavy computation never leaves your machine.
Will it work at my rating?
Every skill is scored against your own rating band, so the plan targets what's actually holding you back at your level, not a grandmaster's checklist. The coach is built to take a player toward 2000, wherever you start.

Your games are already the syllabus.

Enter your username and the coach starts reading. Minutes later he knows where you're leaking, and how to fix it.
